Android is a mobile operating system based on the Linux kernel and designed primarily for touchscreen devices such as smartphones and tablets. It is developed and maintained by Google and is the most widely used mobile operating system in the world. It is open-source, meaning that developers can modify and distribute the source code. It also supports a wide range of applications (apps) that can be downloaded from the Google Play Store.
Android may restrict access to the OBB (Opaque Binary Blob) folder to protect the user's device from potential security risks. The OBB folder is typically used to store large files associated with an app, such as game data or media files.
These files can be quite large, and if an attacker were able to gain access to the OBB folder, they could potentially use those files to exploit vulnerabilities in the device or in the app itself.
Additionally, it also prevent unauthorized apps to access the files in OBB folder, as well as, it can help to prevent app to use all the storage space on the device which will effect the overall performance of the device.
However, it is important to note that this restriction can vary depending on the version of Android and the specific device being used, as different manufacturers may have their own security policies in place.
Because of privacy concerns, Google has heavily restricted storage space on Android 11, which means apps will no longer be able to communicate with one another. Even file manager apps are unable to access the /Android/data or /Android/obb directories. This is known as scoped storage.
If you try to access it, this is what happens. It will appear to be empty.
A computer is required to access them normally.
However, there is a way to access the /Android/obb directory (excluding /Android/data) without a PC. You must allow the permission "instal unknown applications" to gain access to it.
To copy file or access obb folder you need to install a file manager called X-plore File Manager from playstore
Download from Here
now install and give all required permissions to the app and follw the steps below:-
Open X-plore File Manager loacate Data file of Game/app
Long press data folder and select Copy To Clipboard
Now swipe up and find Android folder and under Android floder look for OBB folder paste your folder in obb folder thats all you have successfully copied data files in Android 11xx.
Note don't select move or copy otherewise you will unable to copy files in android 11 or later version remember to unzip data files most of the data files are in compressed files.
On Android 13, you will be prompted for permission to open each subdirectory under Android/data.
Folders in the data folder cannot be created or deleted.
